Entrant:Dominic Entry: I am 99 years old and the nurse who has had the most impact is my in home nurse practitioner who visits me every month. She shares my birthday but is 60 years younger. She has coordinated care with physicians, therapists and when necessary scheduled testing. I am in excellent health and expect to celebrate my 100th birthday in a few months. I hope to celebrate with her too!
Entrant:Charlie Entry: Throughout my 24 years of life, I've visited the hospital with sports related injuries far more than I would have liked. But through these unfortunate events, I have both learned to persevere, as well as met some inspirational people along the way. One of these such people was a nurse I met the night I came into the ER with a broken jaw. After having just healed up from a previous injury, and finally returning to playing the sport I loved, I incurred a serious face injury and broke my jaw, while knocking out several teeth along the way. I was extremely distraught when I arrived, asking "why me?" A certain nurse that was caring for me that night gave me some advice I will never forget, saying essentially, "we cannot control the past, only what we do with the time we have remaining." This is advice I live my life by to this day!
